چکیده

We present CRISNER (Conditional & Relative Importance Statement Network PrEference Reasoner), a tool that provides practically efficient as well as exact reasoning about qualitative preferences in popular ceteris paribus preference languages such as CP-nets, TCPnets, CP-theories, etc. The tool uses a model checking engine to translate preference specifications and queries into appropriate Kripke models and verifiable properties over them respectively. The distinguishing features of the tool are: (1) exact and provably correct query answering for testing dominance, consistency with respect to a preference specification, and testing equivalence and subsumption of two sets of preferences; (2) automatic generation of proofs evidencing the correctness of answer produced by CRISNER to any of the above queries; (3) XML inputs and outputs that make it portable and pluggable into other applications. We also describe the extensible architecture of CRISNER, which can be extended to new preference formalisms based on ceteris paribus semantics that may be developed in the future.

Point-Based Approaches to Qualitative Temporal Reasoning

We address the general problem of finding algorithms for efficient, qualitative, point-based temporal reasoning over a set of operations. We consider general reasoners tailored for temporal domains that exhibit a particular structure and introduce such a reasoner based on the series-parallel graph reasoner of Delgrande and Gupta; this reasoner is also an extension of the TimeGraph reasoner of G...

SBox: A Qualitative Spatial Reasoner –Progress Report–

This paper presents a method for reasoning about spatial objects and their qualitative spatial relationships (e.g. touches, overlaps etc.) on the basis of a description logic framework. We apply this method to the domain of deductive geographic information systems. In contrast to existing work, which mainly focuses on reasoning about qualitative spatial relations alone, we integrate quantitativ...

Semantic Web and Comparative Analysis of Inference Engines

Semantic Web is an emerging technology for efficient reasoning support over the knowledge represented on the Web. This paper presents the semantic web standards and survey a number of Inference Engines that supports reasoning with OWL. Also analyzed the reasoner with set of ontologies and based on supported features. Keywords— OWL, RDF, Inference, Description Logic

Qualitative Constraint Calculi: Heterogeneous Verification of Composition Tables

In the domain of qualitative constraint reasoning, a subfield of AI which has evolved in the past 25 years, a large number of calculi for efficient reasoning about spatial and temporal entities has been developed. Reasoning techniques developed for these constraint calculi typically rely on so-called composition tables of the calculus at hand, which allow for replacing semantic reasoning by sym...

Nonlinear Multi attribute Satisfaction Analysis (N-MUSA): Preference disaggregation approach to satisfaction

Nonlinear MUSA is an extension of MUSA, which employs a derived approach to analyze customer satisfaction and its determinants. It is a preference disaggregation approach, widely welcomed by scholars since 2002, following the principles of ordinal regression analysis. N-MUSA as a goal programing model, evaluates the level of satisfaction among some groups including customers, employees, etcete...
